Internships
Each resident will work 30 hours per week for a local non-profit, ministry, or kingdom-minded business. This is a paid internship that provides valuable experience and credits towards the MA in Strategic Ministry at Johnson University.
The internship is a core element of the resident experience. Not only does it occupy much of the resident’s time throughout the week, but it is the place where the resident can put into practice the tools that they learn in the classroom and cohort meetings.
We partner with like-minded employers in Knoxville to provide a quality 10-month paid internship ($1,200/mo) for each resident. In return, our partners expect quality work. Each resident will have a job description, a supervisor, quarterly reviews, and regular objectives to achieve. While the commitment is for the duration of the residency program, many of our employers are looking for quality long-term employees. At a minimum, residents will gain experience, credits towards their MA, and a good letter of recommendation. Some residents may be offered a full-time job at the end of the program.
